Lovely Day by Bill Withers- Imitation by Jonathan Bynoe
The man was holding that note for dear life at LOVELY DAY 🎶
Jonathan Bynoe is a well-known creator (according to me) who makes comedic content, often focusing on music and pop culture. In this particular short, titled “This vid started a whole series 3 years ago today 😂,” he is doing a comedic re-enactment of Bill Withers recording the song “Lovely Day.”
This is a parody of the famous 18-second long note that Bill Withers holds toward the end of the song Lovely Day. In the video, Bynoe hilariously portrays the strain and the reactions of the people in the studio from the engineer, to the guitarist, and the keyboardist as they wait for him to finish the legendary note.
Key Moments from the Video:
- The Recording Process: Bynoe plays all the characters, showing the “Bill Withers” character getting into the groove before launching into the long note.
- The Wait: As he holds the note , you see the engineer giving an encouraging thumbs-up, then slowly becoming more perplexed and impatient as the note continues.
- The Reaction: The guitarist and keyboardist are shown looking increasingly worried andas the note seemingly goes on forever.
