Why Blaming Others Only Holds You Back- the Robinson's Scene

June 24, 2026

My favorite part:

Take responsibility for my own life? Or blame you? Ding ding ding blame you wins hands down

This scene is from the 2007 Disney animated film Meet the Robinsons. It features a tense confrontation between the protagonist, Lewis, and the antagonist, Goob (also known as the Bowler Hat Guy).

In the clip, Lewis confronts Goob about his life, telling him that while he is sorry for the difficulties Goob has faced, he cannot blame others for his circumstances. Lewis encourages him to stop focusing on past failures and to move forward. In response, Goob sarcastically dismisses the advice, choosing to continue blaming Lewis rather than taking personal responsibility.

Voice Cast for the Characters: Goob (Michael Yagoobian): In this scene, the adult version of the character, often known as the Bowler Hat Guy, is voiced by the film’s director, Stephen J. Anderson. Lewis: The younger version of Lewis, who is addressing Goob in this clip, was voiced by Daniel Hansen and Jordan Fry.

Voice Cast: Lewis: Voiced by Daniel Hansen and Jordan Fry. Bowler Hat Guy (Adult Goob): Voiced by the film’s director, Stephen J. Anderson. Young Goob: Voiced by Matthew Josten.
